Aminka Ozmun is a romance writer whose current claim to fame involves her near obsessive-compulsiveness with regards to site design and user experience. Sounds rather technical for an author, even online? We thought so too. We contacted her through the information on one of her press releases and managed to discuss her views with her over e-mail (yes, e-mail).
Basically, she’s operating from the unsurprising assumption that writers now are becoming ever more responsible for their own publication and all the attendant marketing that results. This is why she’s so focused on website look and feel, especially the user interface. For Aminka, it’s the same as being obsessed over how the cover of her books look.
In the few short months that she’s been promoting herself through online press releases, she’s become a veritable sensation for generating discussions on various websites over topics related to writing, marketing, and website technologies. But what of her fiction?
“It’s unique, too. I mean, there are authors who’ve written about black women and Asian men, but I believe I’m the first to attempt to make a whole sub-genre out of it!” she says.
We can’t wait to find out what such a perfectionist has in store. Aminka’s eponymous site opens on February Fourteenth next year.
